BARBRI offers supplementary programs designed to help you become more proficient in exam taking skills. Check out the courses below to see which ones meet your specific needs.
Essay Advantage
Essay Advantage is a supplemental course specifically designed for the written portion (essay and Multistate Essay Exam) of the Kentucky Bar Exam. With declining pass rates in recent years, the ability to write clearly, concisely, and confidently is more important than ever. This is especially true because a portion of your total bar exam score will be determined by how well you answer the essay questions.
Essay Advantage was developed to vastly improve your chances of passing the Kentucky Bar Exam! In Kentucky, your score on the MEE and each essay will depend not only on your knowledge of Kentucky law, but also on your ability to quickly organize and effectively write a superior answer. Moreover, because each of your bar exam essays and MEE answers will be graded in relation to everyone else's answers, the key to passing the Kentucky Bar Exam is to make your essays stand out as well written and clearly reasoned.
Essay Advantage Can Help You Maximize Those Skills!
Essay Advantage consists of a full day (approximately six hours) of instruction on how to write answers to the various question types featured on the Kentucky Bar Exam. An interactive handout accompanies the lecture and reinforces the skills you will be taught. The program also includes a 500-page book that highlights and reviews the issues that have been tested on the most recent Kentucky Bar Exams. Finally, Essay Advantage students will have the opportunity to submit three assigned essays and receive personalized feedback and encouragement.
When Is The Program Offered?
Generally, Essay Advantage is offered during the third or fourth week of your bar review course. This timing is essential to let you review some substantive law before attempting to learn how to write outstanding essay answers.
PRIVATE TUTORING
BARBRI’s bar review course provides comprehensive instruction for all parts of each state’s bar exam. However, some students desire more customized guidance, so BARBRI is also pleased to provide private tutoring sessions with an experienced, licensed attorney.
BARBRI’s tutoring program can be used by students who are currently enrolled in the BARBRI bar review course, as well as those students who have taken a BARBRI course within the last year. BARBRI will match you with a tutor specifically for the course you are taking or have recently taken.
You can receive a complimentary initial consultation, up to 30 minutes, and hourly packages can be purchased beyond this initial session.
If you believe you would benefit from a customized approach beyond what is already provided in our traditional bar review program, please complete and submit a “Tutoring Initial Consultation Request” form from the “Online Forms” section of your state’s page on the BARBRI website.
