AN OVERVIEW OF THE BAR EXAM:

Administered in February and July of each year, the bar exam is part essay questions, part written exam and part multiple-choice in most states. It includes a number of written essay questions that must be answered in a limited time period. The written exam portion is a performance test designed to assess a student's ability to perform in a real-world situation. Finally, there is the 200-question Multistate Bar Examination – 100 questions during a three-hour morning session and 100 questions during a three-hour afternoon session.
