What is the BARBRI App?
The BARBRI App is the most flexible way to prepare for the bar exam and law school exams, using an iPhone or iPod touch. It lets you watch or listen to lectures, review outlines, and work practice questions – anytime, anywhere. The app consists of two pieces:

• BARBRI Challenge – A free quiz challenge game which lets you compete for fun against yourself and your peers from law schools all over the U.S.
• BARBRI Courses – This portion of the app is only accessible by enrolled BARBRI students. Users will need to log in with their BARBRI user name and password to use this section of the app.

How much does it cost?
There is no cost to download the BARBRI App. The BARBRI Challenge is free to play. The BARBRI Courses portion of the app is accessible to students who are enrolled in a BARBRI bar review or MPRE class. Tuition for these classes varies by state.

When will the BARBRI App be updated?
As software updates become available, anyone who downloaded the BARBRI App will be notified via iTunes to download the latest version of the app.

BARBRI Challenge

What is BARBRI Challenge?
The BARBRI Challenge portion of the app is a free quiz challenge which lets you compete for fun against yourself and your peers from law schools all over the U.S.

How does it work?
The BARBRI Challenge can be played in single player mode or multiplayer mode.

The object of the single player game is to answer 10 questions correctly within 15 minutes. Choose your answer from the four options. Upon completion of 10 questions, you must get a minimum of 4 questions correct to earn any points for that quiz. Each correct answer will earn you the number of points indicated for that question. The number of correct answers, the points you earned, your cumulative score, and your updated school and national ranking will be displayed.

The object of the multiplayer game is to answer 10 questions correctly within 15 minutes, while competing against three other people. Choose your answer by selecting it from the four options. Each correct answer will earn you the number of points indicated for that question. In case of a tie, the person who answered the questions in the shortest amount of time will win. Upon completion of all 10 questions, the number of correct answers, the points you earned, and your cumulative score will be displayed, along with the results of the other players as they finish. Your updated school and national ranking will also be displayed.

Why do I need a separate account for BARBRI Challenge?
The BARBRI Challenge requires you to create an account by setting up a user name and selecting your law school. This information will be used to post your scores on a public leaderboard ranked nationally and by school.

Is my identity secure?
Your BARBRI Challenge user name, school, and score are the only pieces of information that are displayed on the leaderboard. If you do not want your identity to be apparent on the leaderboard, please create a user name that is not personally identifiable.

BARBRI Courses

What features are included in BARBRI Courses?

• 1L lectures, practice questions, and outlines to prepare for law school finals
• 2L/3L lectures to prepare for law school finals
• MPRE lectures, practice questions, and outlines to prepare for the MPRE
• Download video or audio versions of the lectures, whichever you prefer
• Select a specific subject and answer practice questions without any time constraints, or take a 30 minute mixed subject exam
• Each question includes a full answer discussion to help you understand the questions you missed, as well as links to the section of the outline on that topic
• Mark difficult questions for later review
• The percentile rank feature shows how you are doing in each subject relative to thousands of fellow BARBRI students. Once you know your weak spots, you can give them extra attention before exam day.
• Review outlines using a detailed topic list in each subject
• Students who upgrade their bar review course enrollment to the BARBRI Mobile option can access all bar review lectures, practice questions, and outlines to prepare for the bar exam – while still attending as many live lectures as desired (subject to space availability)

What content is available in BARBRI Courses?
The course materials available to you depend on your level in school (first year, 2L, 3L) and the status of your BARBRI account. The BARBRI App provides lectures, mini-review outlines, and test questions for use during law school. It also provides similar content for the MPRE course. If you are in the bar review course and have upgraded to the BARBRI Mobile, you can access the entire bar review course through the BARBRI app.

What if I don’t have an iPhone or iPod touch?
If you don’t have a device, you can lease an iPod touch from us when you are ready to study for the bar. For more details, talk to your BARBRI Student Representative or contact us .

Technical Support

What are the technical requirements for the BARBRI App?
Requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later
Internet access required for BARBRI Challenge, BARBRI Course sign-in, audio downloads, and uploading of test results
WiFi Internet access required for BARBRI Courses setup and video downloads

How do I set up the BARBRI App?
To begin using the BARBRI Mobile course, you must (1) set up your iPod touch® or iPhone®, (2) ensure that the operating system software is at least version 3.0, and (3) download the BARBRI App from the App Store.  For more information about the set up process, please review the BARBRI Mobile Setup instructions.

Can I use the BARBRI Courses portion of the app without an Internet connection?
Effective with v1.2, you can use BARBRI Courses offline.  After downloading v1.2, you must first log into BARBRI Courses  with a WiFi connection and download the initial content and lectures you wish to study.   After that is complete, you can use the downloaded content offline for up to two weeks before you are required to reconnect.

How big are the lecture files?
You will have an opportunity to select the format you want to download. An hour of Video is approximately 100 MB and should only be downloaded if you are on a WiFi network. An hour of Audio is approximately 10 MB and can be downloaded on any kind of network, including EDGE, 3G or WiFi.

Can I share an iPhone or iPod touch with a friend?
You cannot share devices for either the BARBRI Challenge or the BARBRI Courses. If you try to do this, you will not see accurate information related to your studying progress.
