About the Course
Introduction
This CLE/CPE webinar will provide tax professionals guidance on the tax implications of tariffs and offer key business tax planning considerations for companies engaged in the importing or exporting of goods and products. The panel will discuss the direct and indirect impact of tariffs on business taxes, valuation methods, transfer pricing, and planning opportunities for multinational businesses.
Description
For companies engaged in the importing or exporting of goods, tariffs can substantially impact profitability and overall business tax liability for companies. Tax counsel must understand the current legal landscape for tariffs and applicable tax rules and regulations in order to minimize tax liability.
Tariffs are taxes imposed by governments on goods and services imported from other countries. These taxes are typically paid by importers at the point of entry into the country, and can have significant impact on business operations and tax deductions. The rates vary depending on the classification of goods and countries involved.
Tax counsel must understand how tariffs function and their impact on business taxes and deductions and develop strategies to minimize tariff-related taxes.
Listen as our panel discusses the direct and indirect impact of tariffs on business taxes, valuation methods, transfer pricing, and planning opportunities for multinational businesses.
