Meet Our Leadership

DeAnna Swearingen is dedicated to BARBRI’s mission of helping law students and attorneys achieve academic and professional success. As senior vice president of strategic initiatives, DeAnna’s focus is on transformational projects aimed at continuing to build a culture where rock stars want to work, and a business that serves legal learners at every step of their journeys. She is honored to play a role in shaping the future of the BARBRI organization, whether through culture initiatives or the thoughtful integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into work processes. 

DeAnna joined BARBRI following its acquisition of Quimbee, where she served as chief operating officer. Over the course of her career with Quimbee, DeAnna has led diverse teams that spanned customer success, operations, accounting, and legal, and pretty much any other functional area that needed scaling up.  

A lifelong learner, DeAnna loves solving problems, and she believes the secret to career happiness is finding the problems you want to solve and doing it with really, really smart people. As a leader, DeAnna is passionate about empowering team members to do their best work, and then getting out of their way. 
 
DeAnna holds an LL.M. from New York University School of Law, a J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Arkansas School of Law, and a B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Arkansas. 

Outside of work, DeAnna enjoys traveling with her husband Matthew, reading voraciously, and trying to meet the demands of her feline suPURRvisors.
