BARBRI Global is proud to announce its partnership with So They Can as our charity partner of the year 2026. This collaboration underscores our shared commitment to the transformative power of education and its role in creating sustainable, long-term change. To kick off this meaningful partnership, we hosted an inspiring lunchtime session with Hannah McNicol, Grants, Research, and Communications Executive at So They Can, who shared the incredible impact of their work in Kenya and Tanzania.

About So They Can

Education is the driver for sustainable change and So They Can believe that empowering communities through a quality education is the key to breaking the poverty cycle.

So They Can’s goal is to end child poverty through access to quality education in Kenya and Tanzania. They started with 1 school in Kenya 17 years ago. Today, their reach is 56,000 children across 55 partner schools in Kenya and Tanzania. They work in 2 regions in Kenya (Nakuru and Baringo) and 1 region in Tanzania (Babati). And in those 3 regions, they intentionally work in remote villages, where few other NGOs operate, and where education and development outcomes are the lowest nationally. All of their staff on the ground are nationals or 100% local and have a deep, nuanced and culturally appropriate understanding of the multiple barriers to education that exist. • A shared belief in the power of education: We both champion education as the pathway to opportunity, empowerment and long-term change.
  • Commitment to equity and access: We are focused on widening access to education, whether that’s enabling aspiring solicitors or ensuring girls in Kenya and Tanzania can go to school.
  • Driving sustainable impact: We are both committed to creating lasting, systemic impact; we build professional skills that shape careers; So They Can builds educational foundations that lift communities.
  • Amplifying purpose through collaboration: The partnership signals our commitment to social responsibility and using your platform to support global education.

Fundraising and 1HumanRace ("60 for 60")

As mentioned, we have set a total fundraising target of £3,000 for BARBRI in 2026. The great news is we have already jump-started our fundraising efforts with a donation of £450 that was made in lieu of speaker payments at our in-person B2B event in December. We have lots of ideas for 2026 but first up is we would like to form a charity committee to plan and organise our fundraising initiatives throughout the year and to take a poll to select the preferred challenge of choice to support 1HumanRace in March.

Through this partnership, BARBRI Global and So They Can aim to amplify the life-changing impact of education, empowering communities and breaking the cycle of poverty. Together, we are committed to driving sustainable change and making a difference where it matters most. Stay tuned for updates on our fundraising efforts and how you can get involved in supporting this vital cause.
