Advanced Business Valuation and Damages in Commercial Litigation

Evaluating Opposing Experts, Lost Profits and Damages Methodologies, Report Admissibility

About the Course

Introduction

This webinar will provide experienced commercial counsel with the technical grounding to critically evaluate opposing expert reports, identify weaknesses in damages methodologies, and work more effectively with their own valuation and damages experts from discovery through trial.

Description

In many commercial disputes, valuation and damages analyses inform case strategy, settlement opportunities, and trial outcomes. Counsel must understand expert assumptions, methodologies, and conclusions to determine if they are financially well-founded. Inexperienced attorneys may miss weaknesses in an opposing analysis or chances to buttress their case.

Listen as the expert examines how businesses and assets are valued in the context of commercial litigation, how damages and lost profits are calculated under different legal standards, and how financial experts build and attack these analyses across a range of dispute types, including breach of contract, business interruption, fraud, and shareholder disputes.
