About the Course
Introduction
This CLE course will discuss critical issues in high net worth divorces where complex financial matters are often at stake. The program will analyze best practices for family law practitioners to address child support, property division, investments, and alimony/spousal support.
Description
Divorces where one or both of the spouses have substantial assets or high income present uniquely complex legal issues. These challenges are different depending on whether you are representing the "in-spouse" or the "out-spouse" in a high net worth case. High net worth divorces have a much higher potential for error on both sides.
Divorce may upend specific assets structured to achieve tax benefits. It is not unusual for high net worth couples to have international assets that require involving additional parties and non-U.S. attorneys.
Counsel must adeptly navigate child support and custody, property division, investments, and alimony/spousal support.
Listen as our panel of family law attorneys guides counsel representing clients in high net worth divorces where financial stakes are high and complicated. The panel will provide best practices for counsel in addressing and negotiating child support, property division, investments, and alimony/spousal support.
