Introduction
This CLE course will examine how lawyers must meet the profession's expectations for civility, sound judgment, integrity, and service to the administration of justice within everyday practice.
Description
Professionalism affects all aspects of advocacy, negotiation, supervision, and a lawyer's reputation. It is imperative that lawyers exercise professional judgment, retain credibility, and respect the legal process. The panel will discuss how professionalism differs from minimum disciplinary compliance standards and how it guides attorney conduct in interactions with clients, the court, opposing counsel, colleagues, witnesses, and unrepresented parties.
The panel will examine recurring situations where professionalism is challenged, such as clients who request inappropriately aggressive tactics, cases where cooperation breaks down, incivility in communication, and the balance between zealous advocacy and the practitioner's duty to our legal system.

Ms. Behar’s areas of practice include all aspects of Federal and State litigation with an emphasis in complex commercial litigation and business disputes. More specifically, her practice areas include cases involving alleged unfair business practices and unfair competition, professional liability defense (attorneys, insurance brokers, title agents and accountants), D&O and E&O liability, trade secret misappropriation, contract interpretation and drafting, insurance insolvency, as well as intellectual property registration, licensing and disputes. Ms. Behar also chairs the Firm’s Appellate Practice group and has successfully argued before various District Courts of Appeal in Florida. Ms. Behar is the firm’s administrative partner, and is actively engaged is the management and administration of the office. In addition, she was on the Board of Directors of the Weston Bar Association from 2012 to 2018, is the 2019 – 2020 Chair of the Student Education and Admission to the Bar Committee of the Florida Bar, and Co-Chairs the Miami Dade Florida Association of Women Lawyer’s Law School Liaison Committee. Ms. Behar was recognized by SuperLawyers in 2018 and 2019 as a Rising Star and Top-Rated Professional Liability Attorney.
AV (preeminent) rated by Martindale-Hubbell, a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, and selected for many years as one of Utah’s Legal Elite and a Mountain States Super Lawyer, Mr. Hoole enjoys a rich and diverse legal career protecting and vindicating the rights of individuals, businesses, and Utah’s counties, cities, and other political subdivisions. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants throughout his career and is widely respected for his even temperament and professionalism. Mr. Hoole's cases have been reported in such national periodicals as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today. He has also appeared in relation to his cases on various law-related programs on national network and cable television, including Larry King Live and On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.
