This CLE webinar will guide counsel on the challenges in the legal profession related to substance use and addiction. The presenter will discuss how to identify attorneys who are struggling and offer resources for assistance.
Faculty

Mr. Reing is a founding and senior partner of Reing & Reing PLLC and has the pleasure of having his son, Scott Reing as his partner. The practice concentrates on tax and real estate issues. He has been heard as a commentator on National Public Radio's “Marketplace” and “Marketplace Money” regarding various tax issues. Mr. Reing has presented CLEs for the NYS Bar Association, NYC Bar Association, and Judicial Title Company. As past Chair of both the Lawyer's Assistance Program committee of the New York City Bar Association and New York State Bar Association Lawyers Assistance Committee, he has worked with impaired attorneys providing peer support as well as being a monitor and presenter in education programs on behalf of the committees.

In this program, Gary Reing, former Chair of the Lawyers Assistance Committee of the NYS Bar Association and NYC Bar Association, talks about his own addiction struggles and path to recovery, including his reinstatement to the practice of law. Additionally, he will address issues of substance use and addiction within the legal profession and discuss ways to identify attorneys in trouble and explore resources where attorneys can get help.
