About the Course
Introduction
This CLE webinar will discuss structured settlements, focusing on their usage in complex claims such as Workers’ Compensation with MSAs, catastrophic injuries, and special needs planning.
Description
To best serve their clients, attorneys involved in litigation and claims resolution need to understand when and why to recommend a structured settlement annuity. They then must be able to navigate the process of quoting and issuing structured annuities.
Among other things, this process will require attorneys to evaluate Medicare Set-Aside allocations and understand how to fund them using annuities, address payment of attorneys fees, and understand how to incorporate attorney fee deferrals into the settlement process. In some cases, it is advisable to apply structured settlements in Special Needs Trusts and for minors/incapacitated adults.
Listen as our panelists, including Phillip M. Krause, Managing Partner at Structured LLC, will discuss structured settlements, focusing on their usage in complex claims such as Workers' Compensation with MSAs, catastrophic injuries, and special needs planning.
