This CLE webinar will guide counsel on managing mental health. The presenter will discuss mental health struggles in attorneys and will offer coping skill and exercises to improve well-being.
Faculty

Mr. Murtaugh is an established estate planning, business, and real estate attorney who recently joined Stuart & Branigin. He founded his own law firm, Murtaugh Law, in 2015 and operated as a solo practitioner until he transitioned his entire practice to the firm. Mr. Murtaugh provides outsourced general counsel for day-to-day business legal matters and handles entity formations, ownership transfers, and succession planning. He also serves the personal legal needs of area individuals and families by creating will and trust plans that include all the documents that parents need to properly protect their children, pets, and property.
Description
In this course, Reid Murtaugh will share his lived experience coping with mental health issues as a lawyer, including the decision to publicly disclose his bipolar II diagnosis in 2017. You will learn how to identify signs of burnout and poor mental health in lawyers, as well as self-care techniques, coping skills, and mental fitness exercises to improve well-being and work performance. You will also learn about Reid's volunteer and advocacy work to help others, including serving as a facilitator for peer support calls for the Lawyers Depression Project.
