BarbriPdBannerMessage

About the Course

Introduction

This webinar will review the requirements for the new gold card, which facilitates the U.S. residency process and provides a shorter path to citizenship for nonresidents. Our panel of seasoned foreign tax experts will detail the application process, compare and contrast these cards with common visa types, and provide insights into this expeditious program. They will also review the requirements for the upcoming platinum card.

Description

Beginning Dec. 10, 2025, and with an application fee of $15,000 and a financial contribution of $1 million, foreign nonresidents can apply for the new gold card. As noted on the site, the gold card expedites the process to "unlock life in America." The card offers essentially the same rights as a U.S. green card. A spouse and children can apply too; they must also remit the application fee and the $1 million gift. A similar gold card option is available to corporate sponsors who contribute $2 million. Here, the sponsor can apply for corporate gold cards for employees by contributing the application fee and the initial contribution for each employee. The corporate gold

For those wanting life in the U.S.A. without the burden of worldwide taxation, the soon-to-be-card is also subject to annual maintenance and transfer fees.  released platinum card allows cardholders to stay in the U.S. up to 270 days a year and requires a $5 million gift

These new visa options certainly target high net worth individuals. However, questions remain, including who is best suited for the new program, the application process, and how the new cards compare with the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program and common visas. International tax practitioners need to understand the requirements and nuances of applying for the new gold and platinum cards.

Listen as our knowledgeable panel of international tax professionals explores the new gold and platinum cards for individuals considering relocating to the U.S. and their tax advisers.
