As the Founder and CEO of ADR ODR International, Rahim Shamji leads a global mission to advance dispute resolution through high-calibre training and accreditation. By bridging the gap between theory and practice, the organisation prepares professionals for complex, cross-border environments. Through a strategic partnership with BARBRI, ADR ODR International is championing a "future-ready" legal ecosystem.

1. Can You Tell Us About ADR ODR International, Its Mission, And Your Role Within The Organisation?

ADR ODR International is a global dispute resolution training and accreditation organisation focused on advancing education in mediation, arbitration, and modern dispute resolution systems. The organisation works internationally to develop professional training programmes, build institutional partnerships, and strengthen the skills ecosystem for dispute resolution professionals.

My name is Rahim Shamji, I'm the Founder and CEO of ADR ODR International, as well as its Lead Faculty across its global training programmes. Over the course of my time with the organisation, I have shaped and developed international training frameworks that prepare professionals to operate effectively in complex, cross‑border dispute environments. Through ADR ODR International, I aim to build a global network of practitioners, educators and institutions committed to advancing dispute resolution education and promoting practical, internationally relevant professional training. My work focuses on strengthening the foundations of dispute resolution practice through high‑quality education, accreditation and international collaboration.

2. What Motivated ADR ODR International To Partner With BARBRI, And How Does This Collaboration Support Your Vision For Legal Education?

At ADR ODR International, we believe that strong dispute resolution systems must be built on strong legal education and a solid foundation of legal knowledge. As a leading provider of dispute resolution training, we recognise the importance of developing lawyers who possess both specialised dispute resolution skills and a deep understanding of the law itself. Our partnership with BARBRI reflects this vision. By combining BARBRI’s globally recognised expertise in legal education with our focus on professional training and dispute resolution, we aim to create a future‑ready legal education ecosystem that strengthens the foundations of legal practice while preparing lawyers for the evolving demands of the global profession.

3. How is dual qualification shaping the future of legal practice, particularly in global and cross‑border environments?

The legal profession today is evolving rapidly, particularly in global commercial centres across the Middle East. Lawyers increasingly operate across jurisdictions and legal systems. Dual qualification enables legal professionals to develop a broader and more adaptable professional profile, equipping them to navigate both domestic and international legal frameworks. In an increasingly interconnected world, lawyers who understand multiple legal systems will be better positioned to respond to the needs of global clients and complex cross-border matters. This also highlights the growing importance of advanced legal education, including specialised master’s programmes and LL.M. degrees, as lawyers seek to deepen their expertise and strengthen their professional foundations. High-quality, value-driven legal education will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of globally capable lawyers. This is also the direction in which ADR ODR International is actively working through its law school initiatives, focusing on building programmes that emphasise strong legal foundations, international perspectives and future-ready professional training.

4. What Value Do Dual‑Qualified Lawyers Bring To Employers And Clients In An Increasingly International Legal Market?

Dual‑qualified lawyers bring greater versatility, cross‑jurisdictional understanding, and strategic value to both employers and clients. For employers, they provide professionals who can navigate international transactions, advise across multiple legal frameworks and support organisations operating in global markets. For clients, they offer legal advisors who understand how different legal systems interact and who can approach challenges with a broader and more informed perspective. As the region continues to strengthen its role as an international business hub, lawyers with multi‑jurisdictional training and exposure will play an increasingly important role in supporting its growth.

5. What Stood Out About BARBRI’s Courses When Selecting A Legal Education Partner, And How Do They Align With ADR ODR International’s Approach to Training?

In selecting a legal education partner, ADR ODR International was focused on finding an organisation whose approach to teaching and learner support would complement our own emphasis on practical, internationally relevant professional training. BARBRI stood out for the way its programmes combine strong legal training with clear, structured learning pathways that support candidates across different jurisdictions and stages of qualification.

This commitment to excellence, innovation and professional development strongly aligns with the values of ADR ODR International and forms the basis of the meaningful impact we aim to achieve together through this partnership.

BARBRI collaborates with organisations globally that share our commitment to strengthening legal education and building future‑ready professionals. If you’re interested in partnering with us in a similar way, contact our team here.
