Commercial Motor Vehicles: Understanding DOT Compliance and FMSCA Regulation

Who Is Regulated, Driver Qualifications, Drug Testing, Hours of Service, Maintenance, and Enforcement

About the Course

Introduction

This CLE webinar will review the current and planned regulatory landscape for Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)-regulated entities.

Description

The FMCSA sets minimum standards for motor carriers and drivers operating commercial motor vehicles in interstate commerce and to a limited extent in intrastate commerce. Understanding and complying with FMCSA regulations is crucial for preventing CMV-related fatalities and injuries, avoiding penalties, and managing risk.

At a minimum, counsel should be thoroughly familiar with who is regulated, driver qualification requirements, drug and alcohol testing, hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and above all, how the applicable regulations are enforced

Listen as our panel of trucking industry veterans illuminates key issues and current developments in DOT compliance and FMCSA regulations.
